FerroReg team participated in the 17th World Congress on Controversies in Neurology (CONy), which was held from 23-25. March 2023 in Dubrovnik. On that occasion, the first preliminary results of the research within the project were presented. The transcription level of micro RNA (miRNA), small molecules that carry out post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, was determined. miRNA levels were determined by next-generation sequencing (NGS). The variants of the genes encoding leptin and PGC1A, which play a role in preventing neuronal death and reducing oxidative stress induced nerve damage, were also examined. These results will direct further research regarding the preservation of cognitive status and neuroprotection in MS.
